Easy Ceiling Painting

Your color choice alone can make the room look larger or more cozie, thus dramatically changing the dynamics of the room. Although it's a fairly big job, by planning ahead and making sure you have the right tools, you'll ensure the job goes smoothly.
Here's a quick look at the basic supplies you'll need.
You'll certainly require a ladder and paintbrushes, but you'll have an easier time if you also utilize a paint roller with an extension handle. You'll need to be up on the ladder taking care of corners and close work, but you can also cover a lot of ground standing on the floor, which is a lot more comfortable than painting the entire ceiling perched atop a ladder.
Carefully review all your paint roller choices and get one most appropriate for your project. Different textured ceilings require different types of paint rollers. Don't forget drop cloths and, if possible, move all furniture from the room before you begin. Use extra drop cloths to protect furniture that can't be removed.
If you're painting the ceiling and the walls the same color, you won't need painter's tape, if not, cover the trim with painter's tape, and be especially careful in the corners. Once you've completed protective measures, it's time to prime the ceiling. Though painting the ceiling isn't a difficult job, it's usually a large job. To maintain a nice look and avoid having to repaint in the future, use a primer with stain protection.
If you're painting your ceiling the same as it's current color the job can get dizzying, especially if the color is white and not noticeably stained or dirty. If so, save your sanity and purchase paint that goes on blue but dries white. The paint is white but uses a blue dye that disappears when the paint dries which helps you avoid missing any areas of the ceiling.
Take your time painting your ceiling and/or walls. Though it may only take a few hours, the job could take an entire day, depending on the size of the room. If you're painting your bedroom, consider sleeping elsewhere for the night so you don't have to sleep breathing in paint fumes. You should open the windows and use fans to help ventilate the area so you don't get sick.
