Garage Door Types
from: Maxx Home GuidesWhen it comes to garage doors, there are four basic types along with three types of materials most often used to construct these doors.
For a traditional look, a side hung garage door is the best choice. This type of door can be fitted directly on a wood frame or on bricks.
Or you might consider installing a sectional garage door. These doors are ideal where the space in front of the garage is limited since they open vertically. They're great for a new garage where the style and look requires some aesthetic appeal to compliment the entire look of your house.
Roller doors are ximilar to sectional garage doors in that they roll up inside a drum above the opening of the garage door. Since there's no need to allow room inside or outside to operate the door, they're great if there's limited space in front of the garage.
Finally, the most common garage doors are the up and over type, which are the most popular. These doors are manufactured from timber, steel or GPR materials and can be manual or automatic and they're relatively easy to install.
