However, as the months passed, work started piling up on your desk and even on the floor. So how can you maintain your professional and spacious home office even with a busy schedule?
Thre's no doubt that having an organized and well spaced office definitely helps you to complete your job easier. It's also a source of inspiration and motivation for you to start your day by being productive. However, there are some changes you can incorporate into your home offices to make it more spacious and therefore more conducive for working efficiently.
The place to start is to clear all the clutter around your office. Get rid of unnecessary papers such as past drafts, memos etc and try to organize your paperwork for easy accessibility the next time you need it.
Another option is to build or purchase a mounted cabinet to store your office supplies. This type of cabinet is more spacious because they're mounted and won't take an inch of space, which is especially helpful if you have a small office. Choose a cabinet that's bigger so you can stock more stuff on it.
After clearing all the scattered paper work, organize your desktop by ridding yourself of unnecessary items such as picture frames, figurines and the like. These items do add to the beautification of an office, but they just reduce your total work space so it's best, as much as possible, to keep your decorations very simple.
You may also want to consider changing your table into something that will aid you more especially on busy days. An L or U-shaped table is a much more efficient choice because of the extra space provided. Having small drawers under it is also a good idea to increase storage without taking up too much space.
Wirings from telephones and computers should also be considered. Tuck the wires because it provides a neater surrounding as well as preventing potential accidents.
Proper lighting also helps to make an office look spacious. You might want to keep the curtains open during the day and the lights on at night. Good lighting will help make your daily tasks easier to complete.
So, there you go, some simple tips and advice on how to maximize your home office space. If you make some of these changes, you see the positive effect it will have on your surroundings which can only help you become more productive.
